Lucid

Date: 2011-03-02

Location: Drom, 85 Avenue A

Description: Each Lucid event has three segments. The first is an hour of music from 7-8, the second is an hour of spoken presentations from 8-9, and the third is pure social networking mixed with random interactive projects on display. Unfortunately, while we do pack the venue, we don't make much money. Musicians are welcome to sell CD's hand out promotional material and work the crowd after their set (not for tips, but for potential future bookings). Lucid is a great event for exposure as well. We have a mailing list of thousands of people who will hear of you through us. Additionally, we have a very good relationship with the owners of Drom and would be happy to make introductions after the event. We've had other Music for Tomorrow musician play in the past with great success. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you! Julian

Mardi Gras Celebration

Date: 2011-03-08

Location: Bar None, 98 3rd Ave at E 13th St

Description: I would like to book the band for two hours with the option to extend for one hour if possible. The bar will be charging a $10 cover at the door. This money will go towards the band's fee and the charitable donation. If for some reason this amount is not met, I will pay the differential. I would like to book a small group (3-4 members) larger bands might not work in the space. Should I be tipping the band members the night of the event? If so what is the customary tip? This will be the first time I will be introducing live music into my annual Mardi Gras Party. I have agreed that this will not be a private event; rather all passer-bys are welcome to come in and enjoy the show as long as they pay the cover. Hurricanes and hand grenades will be offered as a special that evening and I will have a couple King Cakes flown in from NOLA. There is a possibility I may have other catered NOLA food on hand.

Description: We're having a fundraiser for Lend a Hand India and trying to see if we can fit a band within our budget to add to the ambience.

Slavka's Birthday Party

Description: Dear Musician Friends, My colleague is having a very special birthday party on April 16th at a ritzy apartment near Central Park. She wants a Duet: PIANIST and BASSIST to play for 3 hours (with breaks) for $645. They want the duet to play standards that liven up the room, but not be overbearing to steal the show. You know the drill. Dress code important for this one: suits please. Thanks!
